Scouting Report:
Vargas debuted in 2022 and while his time with the Dodgers didn’t produce spectacular results, it did show a few of what Vargas is capable of. He was among the 94th percentile in sprint speed and had a 40% hard hit rate in 50 plate appearances. 2023, will be a big year for Vargas, as he has nothing left to prove in the minors and if everything goes right he’ll show his plus hit tool and above average power in the Dodgers lineup from 2023 and beyond.

Scouting Report:
It’s not very often that a catching prospect brings a lot of hype with his bat, but Diego Cartaya has exciting pop. Cartaya’s development has come along nicely, and he’s only about a season away now from debuting if all things continue without any hiccups. His best tool is his arm behind the dish and it projects as a plus tool with not only his arm strength, but also his accuracy. Between his build and his strength, Cartaya could easily hit 25 bombs while sticking behind the plate.

3. Andy Pages OF | Tulsa Drillers (AA)

.232 | 102 | 11.9% | 28.2% | 21.3% | 50.4% | 45.9% | 22.8% | 31.3% |
Scouting Report:
Andy Pages was one of the more impressive bats at the 2022 Arizona Fall League and put up very impressive ABs. The ball comes off the bat hard and Pages knows how to battle. He can work the count and fights to keep the at bat going. There’s enough loft in his swing and he can lift the ball giving him projectable home run power. He also showed an elite arm at the AFL making strong and accurate throws, and had reported velos up to 99 mph.

4. Bobby Miller RHP | Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA)
23-Years-Old | Bats: L | Throws: R | 6’5″ | 220 lbs. | ETA: 2023

13.6% | 3.50 | 49.5% | 22.9% | 27.6% | 45.7% | 23.0% | 31.2% |
Scouting Report:
Despite not putting up great numbers as a 23-year-old during his time in Double-A in 2022, Miller was brought up to Triple-A and performed. He is now on the brink of his debut and has a shot to prove himself during the 2023 Spring Training. His mid-to-upper 90s fastball has life, and while he did appear to get rid of his funky mechanism in his delivery, he still has a plus changeup and an above-average curveball that he’s able to throw hitters off with.

5. Jose Ramos OF | Great Lakes Loons (A+)
22-Years-Old | Bats: R | Throws: R | 6’1″ | 200 lbs. | ETA: 2024

.230 | 120 | 17.4% | 40.8% | 19.1% | 40.1% | 45.8% | 25.5% | 28.7% |
Scouting Report:
Ramos has been one of the biggest rising prospects in all of baseball and has showed some ridiculous power at the Arizona Fall League, including his home run in the Championship game that had a distance of 460+ feet. Continuing on, his power is effortless and he hits to all fields well, but while his hit tool is average, the power will be the best part of his game and it’s not even close. But this is one prospect that will hit his way into an everyday job with the Dodgers, and with his tools still developing, he can be a very special player going forward.

6. Michael Busch 2B | Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA)
25-Years-Old | Bats: L | Throws: R | 6’1″ | 210 lbs. | ETA: 2023

.243 | 118 | 11.9% | 37.8% | 26.0% | 36.2% | 42.5% | 24.6% | 33.0% |
Scouting Report:
Busch is one of the top second base prospects in all of minor league baseball and there’s a good chance he debuts at some point in 2023. Here’s another prospect in this system with loads of power potential. The ball jumps off his bat and most of his value will come from his bat as he isn’t a strong defender by any means. He is capable of holding down the second base spot and his power will player very well in Chavez Ravine. Busch is just another prospect that is on the cusp of being a major contributor in the the Dodgers lineup.

7. Dalton Rushing C | Great Lakes Loons (A+)
21-Years-Old | Bats: L | Throws: R | 6’1″ | 220 lbs. | ETA: 2024
Hit | PWR | FLD | SPD | ARM | DISC | Role |

.337 | 213 | 9.7% | 32.9% | 30.3% | 36.8% | 46.8% | 35.4% | 17.7% |
Scouting Report:
Rushing was Henry Davis’ predecessor at the University of Louisville and put up big power numbers his junior season. Rushing’s hot streak carried into his professional debut where he crushed Low-A pitching after a very quick stint at the Arizona Complex League. The ball comes off his bat hard and there’s good power projection. Rushing’s defense behind the plate needs serious work and with Cartaya ahead of him, it wouldn’t be a shock if he moves over to first long term due to his power potential.

8. Ryan Pepiot RHP | Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB)
25-Years-Old | Bats: R | Throws: R | 6’3″ | 215 lbs. | ETA: 2022

55 | 50 | 70 | 50 | 5 |

10.9% | 5.31 | 26.4% | 16.1% | 57.5% | 30.7% | 39.8% | 29.5% |
Scouting Report:
Pepiot debuted in 2022 and had a solid first season in the MLB, strikeout batters at a 26.3% rate in 36.1 IP. He looks to take a massive step forward in 2023 being a mainstay in the Dodgers rotation. He has one of the best changeups in the Dodgers system, as batters whiffed 29% of the time on it. His fastball sits mid-90’s with massive sink and a slider as well. One of his only faults is that he’s a three pitch pitcher, so that may effect his ability facing hitters going forward. In the end, he has all the makings of a solid rotation piece but the Dodgers could end up being crafty in making him a good relief option for 2023 and beyond.

9. Gavin Stone RHP | Oklahoma City Dodgers (AAA)
24-Years-Old | Bats: R | Throws: R | 6’1″ | 175 lbs. | ETA: 2023
FB | SL | CH | Control | Role |
60 | 55 | 60 | 50 | 5 |
IP | G | GS | ERA | WHIP | K% | BB% | HR/9 |

17.6% | 3.08 | 47.1% | 27.7% | 25.2% | 47.3% | 20.3% | 32.4 |
Scouting Report:
One of the biggest rising prospects in all of minor league baseball in 2022. He broke out in a big way pitching to a 1.48 ERA in 121.1 innings pitched. He’s always had solid strikeout numbers as he had a 36.5% strikeout rate in 2021 and a 33.8% rate in 2022. Stone has a simple, repeatable delivery and operates mid 90’s and touches 98 mph. His best secondary is fading changed up that hovers around 86-88 mph. However, his slider is also a good offering, operating 88-89 with good late bite. In the end, this is one candidate to make the Dodgers out of Spring Training, if he doesn’t, barring injury he could definitely debut sometime in 2023.

10. Eddys Leonard SS | Great Lakes Loons (A+)
22-Years-Old | Bats: R | Throws: R | 5’11” | 195 lbs. | ETA: 2024
Hit | PWR | FLD | SPD | ARM | DISC | Role |
50 | 50 | 45 | 55 | 55 | 40 | 5 |

ISO | wRC+ | SwStr% | GB% | LD% | FB% | Pull% | Cent% | Oppo% |
.171 | 119 | 13.9% | 42.0% | 18.2% | 39.8% | 50.3% | 19.9% | 29.8% |
Scouting Report:
The Dodgers signed Eddys Leonard during the 2017-18 International signing period for $200,000. Leonard isn’t a blazer on the base paths, but has posted above-average home to first times. Most of his value will come from his bat since he’s nothing special defensively. He takes aggressive swings and has enough loft in his swing that gives him some home run projection with a lot of doubles.
