Jacob Wilson has a chance to be a top 10 overall draft pick out of Grand Canyon University. He would be the highest pick out of the WAC since the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Nick Gonzales out of New Mexico State University with the seventh overall pick in the 2020 draft. While Wilson doesn’t project for much game power, he has some of the best plate discipline in the country. Wilson projects to stick at short and has one of the best infield arms in the country as well. There’s a lot to love about the son of former All-Star Jack Wilson.

Video Breakdown
You can see here in this tweet how easy Wilson’s swing is. All he did was flick his bat out and pushed the ball the other way. There’s good use of his wrists shown here and the ball came off the bat quickly. While Wilson’s homerun power is pull side, he has a great ability to spray the ball all over the field.
Final Thoughts
Wilson had an injury scare early in the season going for a foul ball and hit his head in the seats but gutted it out and has put together an incredibly impressive junior campaign. While Wilson is taking advantage of mid-level college pitching, his hit tool is legit and he has had one of the best, if not the best eye around the nation. We should see Wilson get taken in the front half of the first round with top 10 potential.
