Ethan Salas became my favorite prospect this past Minor League Baseball seasons. After signing for $5.6million in the 2023 international signing period, the Padres let Salas skip over the ACL and went to Low-A where he made his pro debut. Salas looked very impressive as a 17-year-old phenom and is easily one of the top prospects in the game now. He did show some signs of struggle after reaching High-A, but then started getting comfortable and reached Double-A. He doesn’t just show an advanced eye for someone his age, he has one of the best eyes in the MiLB. Salas’ bat could carry him through the system next year and there’s a good chance he could debut in 2024 as an 18-year-old. He’s an excellent prospect and looks incredibly comfortable at the plate. This in-depth scouting report takes a further look at the Padres’ phenom.
