Iโ€™ve already written a full-scale report on Celesten but itโ€™s rare to find a guy with a legit 65 hit tool and thatโ€™s definitely Celestenโ€™s calling card. He was the best prospect out here since the beginning and itโ€™s not particularly close either. He handles velocity well and hits to all fields as good as anyone out here. His natural bat-to-ball skills and advanced hit tool will allow him to advance through the Mariners system quickly.

Hereโ€™s another prospect that was on my radar almost immediately. Thereโ€™s so much to like with Quintero but the one ability that sticks out is his approach of going up the middle and spraying the ball the other way. His ability to hit to all fields just looks too natural. His mixture of bat-to-ball skills and plate coverage make his plus hit tool look better in the future. His plus speed also helps his game as he busts a 4.2 home to first time. Quintero was one of the bigger names out here in the Arizona Complex League and he showed out well for the Complex League Dodgers and helped them capture the Arizona Complex League Championship.

3. Welbyn Francisca SS | Clevland Guardians

One of the purest bats during the Arizona Complex League season, Welbyn does everything well and displays some solid athleticism. The switch-hitter displays a solid eye on both sides of the plate and just puts the ball in play. His bat is advanced for his age, and he was showing some definite raw power in his bat. Defensively, Francisca played all over the diamond, mainly at short and second but excelled wherever he was. I do think he stays at short long term with his instincts and range up the middle. The Guardians are absolutely loaded with talent and Francisca was a solid player out here, he could be a massive rising prospect in this system and could be considered a top five prospect in their system in the near future.

4. Asbel Gonzalez OF | Kansas City Royals

Asbel wasnโ€™t on my radar until I saw him live and he displays some LOUD tools, but the main parts of his game are the quality of contact with his approach and the solid gap-to-gap power in his bat. Heโ€™s super athletic and takes good routes in center showing projection to stick there long term. When watching Asbel, you might notice how he looks kind of stiff with his swing but he does a good job of finding the barrel and consistently putting himself in hitter friendly counts. Having Asbel on this list so high seems bold but he oozes potential on both sides of the ball. Once he starts adding to his projectable frame, he also might tap into some power thus making him an even better prospect going forward.

5. Robert Calaz OF | Colorado Rockies

When you talk about solid power potential, you talk about Robert Calaz. The Rockies prospect was among the best hitters in the power department but also showed some solid ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. He ended up winning the ACL Triple Crown, so you may ask, how is he not higher on this list? Well, overall, the hitters ahead of him have shown a safer hit tool for the future. Also, when I saw him the swing decisions were questionable and the swing-and-miss in his bat was worrisome. However, the raw power in his bat is legitimate and his bat has the potential to explode in the future, especially playing in Coors Field where it’s a hitter’s paradise.

Many people may have no clue who Yolfran Castillo is, but he was signed by the Rangers in 2024 and was immediately sent to the Arizona Complex League after demolishing the Dominican Summer League. The 17-Year-Old displayed some special bat-to-ball skills and was among the best hitters out here. The times I saw him he was consistently hitting to all fields and looked good defensively. One of the more underrated aspects of his game is his above-average speed and solid ability to control the strike zone for his age. Last year, the Rangers had another 17-Year-Old stud infield prospect Sebastian Walcott, and after a slow start to the 2024, heโ€™s thrived in High-A. Castillo is no exception as heโ€™s one massive prospect to watch going forward.

7. Joendry Vargas SS | Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers had a three headed giant out here during Arizona Complex League season. We talked about Quintero earlier on, but the second best of the three is shortstop prospect Joendry Vargas. Overall, Vargas looked solid on both sides of the ball. His contact tool looks superior to his power, but Vargas did something interesting the more I saw him. Vargas was a patient hitter at the plate but as I saw him later in the season, he started to be more aggressive earlier in counts and yielded some better results and I love his swing and plate coverage. Heโ€™s a definite shortstop long term with his smooth hands and arm strength. Overall, the Dodgers keep pumping out solid prospect after solid prospect, this year was no different with the ACL Dodgers having significant talent.

8. Braylin Morel OF | Texas Rangers

Morel was one of my favorite bats that I saw live and was an extra-base hit machine with one of the more clutch bats of the season. Morel adjusts his swing well to find the barrel, especially on pitches higher in the zone. While his contact tool is underwhelming compared to his power, heโ€™ll continue to understand the strike zone and limit his swing and miss in his bat as he matures. Overall defensively, he profiles better as a right fielder with his plus-plus arm strength and athleticism. Morel is a prospect with a high ceiling as an everyday player with a good combination of power and speed.

9. Filippo Di Turi SS | Milwaukee Brewers

Di Turi is one prospect that I saw on the first day of Arizona Complex league and what immediately stuck out to me was his bat-to-ball skills. Heโ€™s a high contact prospect that knows how to hit to all fields with authority. He was one of the first Complex League guys on my list to be promoted to Low-A, but Di Turi is one of those prospects who shows a good eye at the plate and put together some solid plate appearances while showing some tremendous plate coverage. While he might not have a specific plus tool, he all-around could be a solid prospect for the Brewers and add even more talent to their farm system that is among the best in baseball.

10. Lisbel Diaz OF | San Francisco Giants

Lisbel Diaz was an exciting and fun player to watch before his promotion to Low-A San Jose. Overall, he was the best hitting prospect out here for the ACL Giants and made a lot of noise. Diaz displayed some impressive power potential and what stuck out to me was the mid-at bat adjustments that he makes. In the video below, you can see the different timing mechanisms that he has in different counts, especially when he’s behind in the count. Despite being a high ceiling prospect, his success will depend on how his contact develops as thereโ€™s tons of swing-and-miss in his game. He is still extremely raw and comes with loads of potential on both sides of the ball. Diaz is one prospect to keep particularly close tabs on as he develops through the Giants system.

The Reds dipped into their international bonus pool money to sign Taiwanese two-way prospect Sheng-En Lin for $1.2 Million in 2023. During the Complex League season, Lin was predominantly a third baseman/DH and focused very little on pitching. All throughout Complex League, I was continuing to try and get a look at Lin, but I was unsuccessful until my last time going to the Goodyear Complex. He ended up having a two-hit day with multiple barrels. What stuck out to me was the approach as all of his barrels were the opposite way and he showed some excellent bat speed. It remains to be seen if the Reds want him as a true two-way prospect, but at the moment he’s looking like solid prospect for the Reds who will hit for average while showing surprising gap-to-gap power.

12. Demetrio Crisantes SS | Arizona Diamondbacks

Crisantes is the first Diamondbacks prospect on this list and was drafted in the 7th round back in 2022. The now 19-year-Old Crisantes put on a hitting clinic during his time at Complex League. He was hitting to all fields nicely, showing some good gap-to-gap power while displaying solid bat speed and had a patient approach. I donโ€™t believe he hits for a lot of home run power, but he could average around 10-15 home runs a year as the main star of his game is the hit tool and that helped him get promoted to Low-A Visalia.

13. Angel Cepeda SS | Chicago Cubs

One of the more interesting bats out here was Cubs prospect Angel Cepeda. He showed a legitimate plus contact tool but limited power in his bat. His swing was short and quick, and he had a knack for showing tremendous plate coverage. While sliders away seem to give him fits, his eye and plate coverage will help him get on base at a high rate. Mix that with his good speed and ability to play multiple infield positions, the Cubs have a prospect with the potential of being an above-average player in the future thatโ€™ll hit near the top of the lineup.

14. Yeremi Cabrera OF | Texas Rangers

Cabrera was one of the top bats on an absolutely loaded ACL Rangers roster that had prospects Braylin Morel, Yolfran Castillo, and Pablo Guerrero. He absolutely raked out here at Complex League and showed some definite power potential. Cabrera comes with some loud tools but a lot of risk as well in his bat. The contact profile is risky, but interesting as his swing decisions are questionable, especially on breaking balls in the dirt. There was at one point where I saw him nearly hit two home runs in the same game, but they just missed going out and hit the top of the fence. The swing and the barreling allow him to have that aforementioned massive pop in his bat, and promise as a prospect, but he doesnโ€™t project to have a high on-base percentage.

Josh Adamczewski is the second of three 2023 draft picks on this list, and was picked in the 15th round by the Brewers. The organization mightโ€™ve found yet another plus hit tool and heโ€™s a prospect that doesnโ€™t try to do too much and hits the ball where itโ€™s pitched. I believe that there’s some power in his game, but it wonโ€™t be as apparent as his other tools. His highest exit velocity that I saw in person was a 102 mph pull side single into right. Josh Adamczewski’s advanced hit tool shouldnโ€™t go unnoticed and he no doubt looks like another solid prospect to watch in a loaded Brewers system.

Ramirez signed with the Royals out of Venezuela for $57,500 in 2023, and heโ€™s been a steal for the Royals so far. The slugging catching prospect looked like a solid prospect on both sides of the ball and was a massive run producer for the ACL Royals. One note with Ramirez was he put the ball in play consistently and rarely expanded the strike zone. He sprayed the ball to all fields and just found a way to consistently get on-base. The Royals already have a few catching prospects, but Ramirez has the potential to the best of the bunch as him and fellow Complex League prospect Jorge Hernandez both looked fantastic out here.

Bitonti is a second year Complex League prospect after being drafted in the 3rd round of the 2023 MLB draft and he arguably had the most raw power of anyone during the Arizona Complex League. So you might be asking why is he so far down on this list? There was very little change in approach and his strikeout rates will be high as his swing-and-miss in his bat is worrisome. However, if the contact tool materializes, heโ€™ll be a solid prospect but thereโ€™s just so much risk with his current contact tool that he may have a higher chance of becoming a power only bat. Overall, he deserves to be on this list with his massive pop that should translate at the next level.

Guerrero comes from a terrific blood line as heโ€™s the son of Vladimir Guerrero and the brother of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and thereโ€™s a lot of similarities in their games. Overall, Pablo is similar in the hit department to Eric Bitonti, with enough holes in his swing that make the hit tool risky. However, when Pablo makes contact the sound is LOUD and the ball flies off his bat. He hit well out here but he’s a prospect that profiles as a 1B/DH in the future as he doesnโ€™t bring much to the table defensively. I was unable to see his arm that much as he DH’d most of the time, but the times I saw his throwing mechanics in between innings, they looked good. His tools are still extremely raw, but he has projectable power in his bat thatโ€™ll let him easily hit his ceiling as an everyday player.

Soler is the second Diamondbacks prospect on this list and when you talk about a plus contact tool, you must talk about Soler. He has crazy bat-to-ball skills and mixes a short, quick swing with a solid up-the-middle approach and an ability to hit the ball where its pitched. Soler played majority third base, and he displayed a good arm with some range at third. Overall, Soler is hit over power but could get into 15+ home runs a year type power. The Diamondbacks have had a few solid infield prospects come through Complex League and Soler is looking like another prospect that can rise and advance quickly through the Diamondbacks system.

Javier Mogollon is one of the more intriguing bats on this list despite not having numbers that jump off the page. However, his bat oozes potential and thereโ€™s some power in his bat despite his size. The 5โ€™8โ€ Mogollon showed a solid ability to barrel to his pull side but does have a little of a free swinging approach at the plate. Arguably his best tool is his speed, as he runs around 4.2 seconds to first base and shows exceptional acceleration and athleticism. Magollon is still young and will most likely repeat Complex League for another year, but the combination of raw power and speed is what makes him such an interesting prospect to follow.

Alexander Albertus is the only prospect on this list that was in a significant trade at the 2024 deadline. Albertus was shipped from the Dodgers to the White Sox in the Erick Fedde/Michael Kopech/Tommy Edman three-team swap. At the moment, Albertus is nursing a Tibia Injury that ended his season before he could play a game for the Kannapolis Kannon Ballers. But letโ€™s get to his actual tools. His hit tool looked promising, and I loved the gap-to-gap power in his bat. His exit velocities looked good for his age, so he could develop some over the fence power with a slight swing adjustment. However, the hit tool is as good as it gets for someone from Arizona Complex League, and the White Sox added a prospect with a high ceiling and could explode offensively in the future.

Heโ€™s a future leadoff hitter with his contact tool and elite speed, but thereโ€™s very little projection in the power department as heโ€™s a heavy groundball hitter. However, the aforementioned speed is what makes up for all of it. Defensively, he profiles better in centerfield as he moves well and covers ground with his athleticism and range. Henley is a game changer on the base paths and if he can develop a better eye at the plate to improve his walk rates, he could be a solid prospect for the Reds going forward.

The final White Sox prospect on this list is one that has easy 80-grade raw power in his bat. George Wolkow does carry some of the highest risk on this list however. The reason why he dropped despite the massive power potential were the strikeouts and pull happy approach. There was one at-bat that I saw that was nothing but breaking balls in the same spot and he swung at all of them and whiffed each time. The eye and swing decisions will need some massive retooling for him to blossom as the high upside prospect that he could. However, he does have the frame, strength and the swing to do damage in the power department is something special to watch. I may not be the highest on his bat, but if he can even get his hit tool to be a 40 grade tool, he could shine as a prospect.

24. Bernard Moon SS | Cincinatti Reds

Bernard Moon is also our last Reds prospect on this list and he has the same level of talent as Kyle Henley but with far less speed. Moon doesnโ€™t try to do too much at the plate and was productive with runners in scoring position. He has already experimented with a two-strike double toe tap that allows him to get his timing better and make him more of a threat behind in the count. I love the bat speed and swing path that helps him to easily find the barrel regularly. I was debating on putting Moon ahead of Henley, but Moon doesnโ€™t have a certain outstanding tool. Heโ€™s just one of those prospects that does everything well and could quietly be a fast rising prospect in the system.

25. Kelvin Hidalgo SS | Colorado Rockies

Our last prospect on this list is Kelvin Hidalgo, an athletic shortstop prospect with high energy that looks great on both sides of the ball. Heโ€™s a contact-oriented bat with 30 grade power potential, but the hit tool looks to be at least above-average. He has great bat control that allows him to hit to all fields and his bat may play up just by playing in Coors Field regularly. The Rockies have had a plethora of good prospects coming through Complex League the last couple years, and they had a few solid looking bats this year. Hidalgo was lost in the fold, but overall heโ€™s looking like a good prospect to watch going forward.
