Brandon Marsh is one of the brightest sparks in the Angels’ organization. He has that rare ability to be solid with his bat, but can run and defend as well. Although his position is somewhat blocked by none other than Mike Trout, he has the potential to be an everyday player in the Angels line-up.
Potentially, he could debut in the upcoming 2021 season so get to know Brandon Marsh a little bit more before he does.

Video Breakdown
The report above mentions Brandon Marsh’s shift in stance that has ultimately improved his SO stats and his BA. He focuses more on launch angle with the use of his arms and hands, rather than trying to get underneath every delivery. In the first clip, he is extremely low and doesn’t allow himself to make a clean strike with his bat.
Fast forward to the Fall League in 2019, and Brandon Marsh shows a smoother swing and action, whilst also getting the rewards by boosting his reach.
I think this can also be compared when looking at his spray charts from 2018 to 2019.
If you swipe across the image you can see the difference between the 2 seasons. In 2018 his hits were fairly compact, with XBHs being along the outfield line. Compare that to 2019, his XBHs seem longer and the hits are spread out around the field more.
Final Thoughts
Brandon Marsh has the potential to be called-up in 2021. There are some concerns with his position and where he fits in but to have a player who has speed, potential power and solid defensive attributes, he has to be introduced to the Majors stage sooner rather than later.
He is an exciting part of the future, and it will be interesting to see him continue to develop.
